Hydro-Pneumatic Tanks

Hydro-Pneumatic tanks are for residential and commercial well and water systems, booster systems, irrigation systems, etc. They are designed to deliver water under pressure between pump cycles to provide sufficient flow to meet demands. This saves wear and tear on your pumps and allows a water reserve.

AA tanks offers both plain steel and bladder styles. Both styles perform the same function in the system.

Bladder Hydro-Pneumatic Tank
FXA bladder style hydro-pneumatic tanks are the ASME code design, will be smaller in size than the plain steel hydropneumatic tank design and thus require less floor space. The replaceable butyl rubber bladder is a barrier between the air and water which prevents water logging. The pre-charged hydropneumatic tank is virtually maintenance free.

FXA Tanks are ASME replaceable bladder type pre-charged hydro-pneumatic tanks. The water is contained in a butyl bladder. Sizes from 10 to 3963 gallons.

FX bladder style hydropneumatic tanks are the non-ASME design. The replaceable butyl rubber bladder is a barrier between the air and water which prevents water logging. This pre-charged hydropneumatic tank has a baked epoxy exterior finish. Sizes from 2.11 to 528 gallons with a maximum working pressure of 150 psi.

Plain Steel Hydro-Pneumatic Tank
Plain Steel - Hydro-Pneumatic tanks are the non-bladder type built in carbon steel. There are several functions that a hydro-pneumatic tank can perform. In a booster pump application, it can provide water to the system during periods of a no flow shut down of the booster pump or it can provide water to replace leak loads. In a well water application, it can provide the desired volume of water required between the pump shut down pressure and the pump turn on pressure. In a sprinkler or irrigation pump application the tank may provide a cushion to maintain necessary pressure so the jockey pump will not short cycle.
